How It All Began

Mews Bengals was started by Ed & Leslie Mendivil in 2021.

We developed a deep love for animals after adopting our first dog together Mora. After her passing we wanted to immerse ourselves in a new journey together. We researched different dog breeds and realized we could handle the heartbreak of losing another dog. We found that cats had longer life expectancies, however I "Leslie" hated cats. I did not feel like Cats provided what dogs could offer in companionship. That is, until we found the BENGAL breed. It took a year of researching, but we fell in love with the idea of a hyper, loyal, and intelligent cat that mimics dog-like qualities. Truthfully, they reminded us of our girl Mora. 

 We adopted our girl Mew Mew and soon after our oy Loki in 2021 and quickly realized they were very curious, intelligent, and strong cats. They're also quite social and like to interact regularly with their pet parents. Mew & Loki where so much like dogs and we fell in love with their unique cat/dog tendencies. I wanted to share this breed with the world and become a source of informational wealth to anyone searching for a breed like this.

 Our passion for these magnificent creatures led us to embark on a journey of breeding and raising them. With the assistance of our beloved dogs, Husky Toga & Mijo the Chihuahua, we learned the art of responsible breeding. In 2021, we decided to turn our passion into a profession and established BENGALSBYMEW cattery in Temecula, CA.

Since then, we have been dedicated to preserving the Bengal breed and sharing the love, joy, and excitement they bring. We remain and intend to keep our cattery small and only breed our 3 girls once a year. Our goal is to keep a healthy home environment for our adult Bengal's & to only have kittens when they are fully recovered, healthy, and content. Making our litter of kittens exclusive & deeply socialized to adjust to any loving home!
